Customer profile
Offering services in a vertical range of manufacturing that is unique in Europe, Heinze Group is an alliance of leading companies in plastics technology, surface finishing, electroplating, tool and fixture construction, engineering and products in the extensive field of lightweight construction. Over 1,100 employees work at Heinze Group’s companies at 13 locations in Germany, the Czech Republic, Kosovo, and Switzerland. Thanks to innovative power and performance, the group tripled its revenue to over €100 million within ten years.
Task
‘Strong together’ is one of Heinze Group’s guiding principles. Until recently, the 13 locations managed their important data locally. Work and operating instructions, document templates, packaging instructions, and standards for the automotive industry, in which the Heinze Group is particularly successful, were filed on paper in binders, sometimes in different versions. The goal was to merge, digitize, and make the data accessible in one location within the group, using clear access rights.
Solution
This challenge was to be met by two companies with whom the Heinze Group had already had a positive experience: dataglobal and its expert partner bpi solutions from Bielefeld. The software used was dataglobal CS, whose multi-faceted approach was leveraged to customize the solution to the individual demands of the Heinze Group. Among other capabilities, dataglobal CS enables companies to seamlessly merge, analyze, and structure data from a vast range of sources. In other words: dataglobal CS is a miracle tool for time savings, process optimization, and future-proofing.
Customer use
The Heinz Group received its own high-end document management system that is standardized across all subsidiaries, locations, and departments. It enables the group to easily capture all business-relevant documents in any format and to create links to each source. Users have several search options and methods at their disposal that they can customize according to their personal requirements. Depending on the job, they have access to relevant data for their work.
The validity of the documents can be verified at any time, and they are always up to date. The fact that the documents are audit-compliant makes Heinze Group’s project manager Robin Rögner happy. “It’s an incredible success. Every employee uses the system,” he reports. It is so successful that the Heinze Group is already planning the next step with dataglobal and bpi solutions―expanding the e-mail archive and adding a region-wide contract management system.
The way has been paved towards more growth in the Heinze Group. Collaboration between the Group’s locations, but also within locations, has become noticeably more efficient. Process steps that used to be cumbersome and time-consuming are now completed using just a few clicks. This enables everyone to focus on the core business―and on increasingly offering services in a vertical range of manufacturing that is unique in Europe.
