Ludwigsburg/Heilbronn. LIS.TEC GmbH from Ludwigsburg and dataglobal GmbH from Heilbronn will, in future, be forging new paths together to provide innovative solutions involving data archiving and state-of-the-art working practices for users of HCL Notes Domino applications.

HCL Notes Domino (formerly Lotus Notes and IBM Notes) is a document-oriented, distributed database system with a very tight email integration. With 18,000 customers and more than 50 million users worldwide, this system is one of the leading collaboration applications.
LIS.TEC GmbH is one of the world’s largest high-value OEM distributors for independent software vendors (ISV), with a clear focus on all IBM brands, HCL Software, Rocket Software, MongoDB and sophisticated partner solutions. A significant part of this are, of course, solutions involving the Notes/Domino platform, an IBM software that was acquired by HCL Technologies in 2019 and has since undergone a great deal of development,
One of the most recent innovations is the HCL Nomad app, a solution that allows HCL Domino applications to be used on mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets (iOS & Android). HCL Nomad can access the Domino server online and download data. However, the size of these apps on mobile devices with limited storage space can quickly become a limiting factor for offline use.
This is where dataglobal CS software developed by the Heilbronn digitization experts comes in. By linking HCL Nomad’s technology with dataglobal’s content services platform, HCL Domino applications can easily be used on mobile terminals in the future, irrespective of their size, and without further migrations.
With dataglobal CS, file attachments are archived in an audit-proof manner and can be accessed at any time from anywhere—just like in a private cloud. Notes Client users as well as mobile device users on their smartphones or tablets can thus access any relevant and required data at any time and instantly share data with others. Archiving file attachments using dataglobal CS significantly reduces storage space in HCL Domino applications while simultaneously speeding up digital collaboration.
“Thanks to the cooperation with dataglobal, we are delighted to be able to offer our customers all new features and a whole new flexibility in collaboration. In this day and age particularly, the added value this creates is a very strong market argument for us”, says Jens Orhanovic, Managing director of LIS.TEC.
Wolfgang Munz, CEO and founder of dataglobal also expects a sustained win-win situation from the strategic collaboration. “With LIS.TEC, we have gained a professional partner who, like us, has enjoyed 25 successful years in the market, and, as the world’s only HCL OEM distributor, has supplied many solution providers in the digital solution field and achieved enormous customer potential in the HCL market with them. We are looking forward to the successful placing of our innovative software solutions here over the long term”, Wolfgang Munz says about the new collaboration.
